Licensure Services

Streamlining Licensure Processes with Secure Tools, Real-Time Data, and Trusted Support

Through innovative tools that promote consistency, transparency, and efficiency, we offer the boards services designed for new and currently practicing pharmacy professionals. Our tools promote efficient ways to obtain data about pharmacist licensure status, transfer, eligibility, and more.

Our licensure programs are powered by NABP e-Profile Connect®, a secure platform designed for sharing data. This system ensures real-time access to key information, assisting boards of pharmacy in their licensure decisions. NABP e-Profile Connect reduces staff time, cost, and administrative burden associated with manually retrieving or entering data. Learn more about our services below to discover how we may help your board streamline licensure processes in your jurisdiction.

Licensure Transfer

Licensure Transfer is a Cornerstone of our Operations

Our Electronic Licensure Transfer Program® (eLTP) offers an efficient way to facilitate pharmacists’ license transfer to other jurisdictions. Pharmacists’ exam history, licenses, and disciplinary actions are verified to efficiently assist applicants and boards in the transfer process. Board staff receives verified data and applicant-provided information to make a licensure decision. Your state’s requirements regarding whether applicants must pass the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® (MPJE®) prior to submitting their licensure transfer application are followed.

NABP Clearinghouse

Access Vital Disciplinary Data

The NABP Clearinghouse helps boards share and review licensure and disciplinary actions to promote informed decision-making and protect public health. The database houses information reported by member boards on actions taken against wholesale distributors, pharmacies, pharmacy owners, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and interns. Boards can access information contained in the Clearinghouse by submitting a query using NABP e-Profile Connect.

Clearinghouse information is used:

Ribbon

By the Board to determine the acceptability and qualifications of pharmacists who request the transfer of examination scores and licenses into their jurisdiction.

Clipboard checklist 50

By NABP to screen applicants for our Drug Distributor, Digital Pharmacy, and DMEPOS Pharmacy Accreditation programs.

NABP Verify

Enable Flexible Nonresident Practice Models

As pharmacies and pharmacists play an ever-increasing important role in health care, NABP Verify® provides a license monitoring service to help member boards as they seek new ways to regulate pharmacies and pharmacists. NABP Verify is a key component of the interstate practice model for out-of-state pharmacists. By taking advantage of the service’s ongoing verification, boards realize significant benefits:

CPE Monitor

CPE Monitor® helps boards to oversee compliance with continuing pharmacy education (CPE) requirements for licensure renewal. Through our Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and NABP e-Profile Connect, boards have secure access to pharmacist and pharmacy technician data for auditing and verification. Contact our Licensure team with any questions about how CPE Monitor can help you with audits.

For licensees, we provide two plans for them to easily track their CPE requirements. Our collaboration with ACPE and ACPE-accredited providers automatically syncs all completed ACPE credits to pharmacists’ and technicians’ dashboards for a seamless experience.

How Does CPE Monitor Work?

Exam Eligibility

Streamline Processes

Our examination eligibility service helps alleviate administrative burdens for board staff because we confirm candidates’ eligibility to take the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination® (NAPLEX®) and MPJE. There are more than 10 states that utilize our exam eligibility service.

How the Eligibility Service Works

Each candidate is verified as part of the examination application process to ensure they meet state requirements. Once verified, our staff indicates the candidate’s eligibility in e-Profile Connect. This simple, paperless eligibility review process creates a seamless experience for new graduates and practicing pharmacists seeking licensure through reciprocity. In addition, it removes the administrative burden for the boards.

The following steps outline the exam eligibility process:

  • The candidate applies for the NAPLEX or MPJE through NABP e-Profile.

  • The candidate submits the eligibility fee with their eligibility application.

  • NABP verifies the candidate’s transcripts and reviews NABP Clearinghouse for actions.

    • New graduates must have their schools send official transcripts that include the degree conferral data for verification to be able to purchase an exam.
  • NABP confirms or denies eligibility to take the NAPLEX or MPJE via the candidate’s NABP e-Profile.

  • If eligibility is confirmed, the candidate purchases exam application via NABP e-Profile and receives an Authorization to Test. The candidate can then schedule exam(s) with Pearson VUE.
