What can I expect during the onsite visit of my facility for my accreditation application?
For accreditation programs, the onsite visit evaluates a facility’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as accreditation program standards and criteria. Onsite visits may occur within a single day (up to eight hours at the facility) or extend multiple days, depending on the program, facility type, and/or onsite findings. Certain programs, including DMEPOS and Home Infusion Therapy, perform unannounced onsite visits. The Digital Pharmacy, Community Pharmacy, and Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation programs schedule the onsite visit in coordination with the applicant facility. Announced surveys will receive a tentative agenda via email which includes the time the surveyor should arrive at the facility, as well as documents to prepare ahead of time for review.
