Many years of study and hundreds of pharmacy practice experience hours have prepared you for the MPJE and UMPJE, but a trial run can help you stay on track. 

Assess your knowledge of the exam content areas with 40 questions that are similar to the ones you will see on test day. The practice exam questions for Pre-MPJE are jurisdiction-specific and are different for each jurisdiction, whereas the Pre-UMPJE contains questions that cover general principles of state law and are universal across participating jurisdictions. For both practice exams, you will receive your score immediately after completing the practice test.

Take the Practice Exam Purchase the Practice Exam

Get started on your exam preparation journey.

  • Take the practice exam online by logging in to your NABP e-Profile account and selecting the Practice Exams tile. The Pre-MPJE can be taken once annually per jurisdiction, and the Pre-UMPJE can be taken once annually.

    • The fee for the Pre-UMPJE is $90 per attempt.
    • The fee for the Pre-MPJE is $75 per attempt through March 1, 2026. Beginning March 2, 2026, the fee will increase to $90 per attempt.
  • If you are not ready to take the practice exam when you complete your purchase, simply log back in to your NABP e-Profile during the 7-day window and select the practice exams tile to start the practice exam. After you register and pay for the practice exam, you will have 7 days to take the exam.

  • Review the competency statements as your MPJE “study guide” and the UMPJE Content Outline as your UMPJE “study guide” to understand the topics covered on the exam.

You will need to have a computer with reliable internet access (wired, high-speed connection preferred) to take the practice exam. More information can be found in the Support Center.

There are no refunds for practice exams. Refer to the NABP Refund Policy for details. Practice exams are developed by NABP as a study tool for use by pharmacy students, pharmacy school graduates, and individuals seeking pharmacist licensure. Practice exams are not intended for and are not permitted for use by researchers or practitioners.


The Pre-MPJE and Pre-UMPJE and their contents are the exclusive property of NABP. The Pre-MPJE and Pre-UMPJE are confidential examinations that are protected by law, including trade secret, copyright, and other applicable laws and regulations. 

NABP  expressly prohibits, at all times, the selling, offering, disclosing, making available, transmitting, copying, reproducing, acquiring, or purchasing or receiving without prior written NABP authorization, the Pre-MPJE or Pre-UMPJE including, without limitation, examination questions, answers, question format, profiles, and scenarios. Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in connection with the Pre-MPJE or Pre-UMPJE is prohibited at all times. Specifically, AI cannot be operating when Pre-MPJE or Pre-UMPJE begins or at any time during the practice exam for any purpose, including without limitation, to answer, analyze, record, recreate, or screenshot content, questions, or answers from the Pre-MPJE or Pre-UMPJE.

If NABP obtains information indicating that an individual is engaged in the prohibited conduct described in this section, NABP, at its sole discretion, may take one or more actions against the individual including, without limitation, placement of a hold on scheduling or sitting for the MPJE or UMPJE, provision of information about the individual’s alleged misconduct to one or more boards of pharmacy or regulatory or law enforcement authorities, or pursuit of administrative, civil, or criminal proceedings or penalties.
