UMPJE Participating States

Several jurisdictions have signed on as adopters of the UMPJE, with exam administrations now underway. candidates eligible to take the UMPJE include:

  • Graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited program, 
  • FPGEC-Certified pharmacists pursuing licensure, or 
  • Licensed pharmacists seeking to transfer a license. 

Check the board of pharmacy website for any unique requirements for the jurisdiction where you are seeking licensure.

FAQs

I applied for and purchased the MPJE, but now I want to take the UMPJE instead. What do I do?

If you have an active application and no longer wish to take the MPJE, contact ExamServices@nabp.pharmacy to close your application and NABP will issue a full refund of the cost to apply for and purchase the examination.

What if I am scheduled to take the MPJE on or after the retirement date?

All MPJE appointments scheduled on or after the retirement date will be canceled by NABP, and a full refund will be issued.

Will accommodations be available through the Americans with Disabilities Act for the UMPJE?

Yes, NABP will evaluate all ADA accommodation requests. More information can be found in the Requesting ADA Accommodations section of the Candidate Application Bulletin.

If I already took the MPJE, do I need to take the UMPJE also?

If you already achieved a passing result on your MPJE for a participating jurisdiction on or prior to the transition date, you would not need to also take the UMPJE.
