Why is the uniform version of the MPJE being developed?

Competency in state and federal law is a key component of safe pharmacy practice. This recognition, along with the need for more options around license portability, prompted NABP member boards of pharmacy to pass Resolution 118-3-22 National Standardized Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination, which called for the development of a uniform national standardized pharmacy jurisprudence examination for use by boards of pharmacy as a tool to assess competency for licensure. The uniform MPJE will cover applicable federal law, however, it should not be considered just a federal law exam. Instead, in addition to federal pharmacy law, the uniform MPJE will also focus on assessing knowledge of uniform state pharmacy laws and regulations that are applicable across most states.
