Richard B. Mazzoni, RPh, Elected to Serve as Member of Executive Committee at NABP 110th Annual Meeting

Richard B. Mazzoni, RPh, was elected to serve a three-year member term, representing District 8, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy^® (NABP^®) during the Association’s 110^th Annual Meeting, May 17-20, 2014, in Phoenix, AZ.

Mr Mazzoni is a member of the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy and previously has served as the board’s chair. He has also served as a member of the New Mexico Attorney General’s Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Steering Committee. He is currently a consultant, and his firm, R. Mazzoni & Associates, assists clients with regulatory strategy.

From 2006 to 2012, he was the director of regulatory compliance at CVS Caremark, where he was responsible for regulatory activities in 22 states, and served as the company’s representative to boards of pharmacy. Prior to that position, Mr Mazzoni was the director of pharmacy professional services and government relations at Albertson’s, Inc, for more than 15 years.

Mr Mazzoni has also been involved with multiple pharmacy retail associations including serving as president of the Arizona Retailers Association, president of the California Retailers Association, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Retail Association of Nevada.

Mr Mazzoni earned his bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from University of the Pacific.
