Effective March 1, 2014, the Pre-NAPLEX® has been expanded to further assist candidates preparing to take the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination® (NAPLEX®). To provide NAPLEX candidates with additional practice, the number of test items included in the Pre-NAPLEX has been increased from 50 to 100. The pre-NAPLEX is still available in two forms, so that candidates opting to take the practice exam twice will receive two different sets of practice examination questions.

Also effective March 1, 2014, the fees for the Pre-NAPLEX have been adjusted as follows:

  • Pre-NAPLEX fee increased from $50 to $65
  • Pre-NAPLEX fee for vouchers purchased by schools and colleges of pharmacy increased from $50 to $55 (Note: A 10% discount is available for purchases of 100 or more vouchers.)

Fees for the Pre-NAPLEX had not been adjusted since the practice exam was launched in 2003.

The Pre-NAPLEX is the only NAPLEX practice examination written and developed by NABP to familiarize students with the NAPLEX testing experience. The items on the Pre-NAPLEX are actual items that have previously appeared on the NAPLEX. The Pre-NAPLEX score is intended to provide candidates with information on their performance under pre-testing conditions when answering a subset of test questions similar to those that may be included on the NAPLEX. NABP does not claim that a strong performance on the Pre-NAPLEX indicates a likelihood of passing the NAPLEX. More information about the Pre-NAPLEX is available in the Programs section of the NABP website.
