The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) is pleased to announce that CPE Monitor™ integration among continuing pharmacy education (CPE) providers is well underway with over 550,000 CPE activity records now stored in the CPE Monitor system. CPE Monitor is a national collaborative service from NABP, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and ACPE providers that allows licensees to track their completed CPE credits electronically. Currently, there are over 90 ACPE-accredited providers actively transmitting CPE data to support CPE Monitor. Soon all ACPE-accredited providers will be participating in CPE Monitor and require pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to submit their NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth (MMDD) in order to obtain ACPE-accredited CPE credit.

Currently, more than 164,000 pharmacists and 87,000 technicians have created NABP e-Profiles and registered for the CPE Monitor service, allowing them to electronically track CPE activity from participating providers. CPE Monitor is expected to provide the boards of pharmacy with a streamlined process to verify their licensees’ and registrants’ compliance with CPE requirements. It is anticipated that in 2013 the boards of pharmacy will be able to request reports on the CPE activity of their licensees, eventually eliminating the need for them to collect printed statements of credit for ACPE-accredited CPE.

NABP is the independent, international, and impartial Association that assists its state member boards and jurisdictions in developing, implementing, and enforcing uniform standards for the purpose of protecting the public health.
