Building a Health Care Community Rooted in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At NABP, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are essential pillars of a thriving health care ecosystem. We are committed to promoting greater representation of racial and ethnic minority groups within the health care workforce and leadership positions. By addressing systemic disparities, eliminating barriers, and embracing diverse perspectives, we strive to create a more equitable and patient-centered health care system. We believe furthering this initiative to eliminate inequities is an essential part of our mission to protect public health.

Since fall 2021, we have been working with 6 other organizations on a grant project that is intended to increase the number of individuals in racial and ethnic minority groups working in health care professions and to improve health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority populations in the United States. The project, titled “Eliminating Generational Racial Health Disparities,” examines how policies affect racial and ethnic minority populations, from early childhood education all the way through their experiences as health care professionals and leaders, to identify where Improvements can be made.
