Inspector, Accreditation and Inspection Programs Apply
Status: Exempt
Location: Remote
Salary: $108,000-$115,000
As the Inspector, Accreditation and Inspection Programs, you will play a critical role in the process of evaluating pharmacies and distribution facilities for compliance with regulations and program requirements to support NABP’s mission to protect public health. You will regularly travel and work remotely and use independent judgment, analysis, and adaptability. You will be responsible for applying federal and state regulations while evaluating the physical conditions and policy implementation practices in pharmacies and drug and device distribution facilities, as well as producing final reports that are well-written, factual, and objective. Additionally, you will provide recommendations and report adverse findings to the Compliance Senior Manager and participate in NABP staff and contractor training. You will also support inspection and accreditation programs by participating in quality assurance and document reviews.
Job Description
Inspector/Surveyor
- Performs inspections and accreditation surveys as assigned, including expedited/short notice assignments.
- Reviews application materials and performs pre-inspection/survey reviews in order to prepare for inspection/survey.
- Is flexible with time to accommodate facilities, when necessary, due to unforeseen circumstances, communicates quickly with the applicant to alert them of a potential change in plans, and tries to be accommodating when appropriate.
- Clearly communicates with applicants, listens well, and sets expectations if needed.
- Comprehensively and concisely describes observations and gathers necessary information into inspection and survey reports.
- Completes required reports and submits no less than 5 days from the completion of the inspection or survey.
- Plans self-travel for inspections and surveys and ensures reimbursements are properly submitted in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates adaptability when expedited inspections and surveys need to be completed.
- Assists with the training of contractors in the field and provides feedback.
Compliance Program Support
- Performs reviews, analyzes data, and reports findings from applicant materials, including, but not limited to application, document submission, policies and procedures, inspection/survey findings, eligibility determination, applicant responses, and audits.
- Performs quality control and quality assurance activities related to inspection and survey reports.
- Seeks input from Compliance Managers regarding unusual findings or concerns.
- Provides feedback and suggestions to improve inspection and survey related forms, guides, and other applicant communication.
- Occasionally attends program and department meetings to provide field perspective to operations team.
- Assists Compliance Senior Manager, Accreditation and Inspection Programs with development and presentation of webinars and in-person training related to surveys and inspections.
Job Requirements
- Pharmacy technician national certification or pharmacist license.
- 10 or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacist required.
- Sterile compounding experience required.
- Proficient knowledge of rules/regulations governing the practice of pharmacy and/or drug and device distribution required.
- Inspection and regulatory compliance in pharmacy and/or drug and device distribution or other related health care field experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Excel or similar office software.
- Regularly expected to fly or drive with overnight stays.
- Any combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the employment standards requirements listed above, and that provides the required knowledge and abilities, may be deemed acceptable for this position.

Professional Affairs Regulatory Coordinator Apply
Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Hybrid work model
Salary: $21-23 hourly
As the Professional Affairs Regulatory Coordinator, you will be involved in all aspects of the NABPLAW database and conduct research to update regulatory content related to drug and pharmacy laws and rules. You will also handle and resolve a majority of the customer inquiries and customer service needs, unless the issue needs to be escalated. You will act as the liaison between Professional Affairs and other departments for the purpose of coordinating software updates and to ensure conformity with other department procedures. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and self-motivated to conduct legal research to update and enhance the quality of the NABPLAW content. You should also have a working knowledge of federal and state regulatory frameworks. Professional communication with customers is also required.
Job Description
Program Coordination
- Coordinates with NABPLAW staff to ensure that the NAPLAW database is as accurate as possible using state pharmacy board websites as primary resource and NABP’s State News Roundup and Westlaw as additional resources.
- Coordinates with NABPLAW staff to ensure that the database review cycle is completed in a timely manner as determined by the Professional Affairs Manager.
- Responsible for drafting correspondence to subscribers, state boards of pharmacy, vendors, potential subscribers, and other organizations and seeks assistance from the Professional Affairs Manager if needed.
- Ensures that NABPLAW tasks are completed according to procedural timelines.
- Monitors service workflow and coordinates with the Professional Affairs Manager on progress and issues that arise. Identifies and resolves causes of delays and prepares proposals to prevent future delays.
- Assists in coordinating the implementation of the NABPLAW service with state boards of pharmacy, subscribers, potential users, and vendors, including the maintenance of licensing agreements, training schedules, documentation, royalty payments, subscriber payments, etc.
- Assists with NABPLAW searches as determined by the Professional Affairs Manager, which consists of updating the Survey of Pharmacy Law as determined by the Professional Affairs Manager.
- Coordinates with other departments, including Technology, Marketing, Customer Engagement, and Accounting, on NABPLAW database maintenance, innovative marketing, and subscription sales.
- Activates all new subscriptions and users within the database and in OVID in a timely manner.
- Ensures that customer subscriptions are activated and deactivated in the database and in OVID in a timely manner.
- Provides clear and accurate instructions to customers telephonically and through grammatically correct emails.
- Communicates issues to both the Professional Affairs Manager and the third-party vendor if there are issues with the vendor’s platform.
- Independently drafts professional emails to subscribers and future customers related to Professional Affairs regulatory resources (ie, NABPLAW and Survey of Pharmacy Law).
Reporting and Documentation
- Creates an accurate quarterly budget report for the NABP Executive Committee.
- Coordinates with the Marketing department in customer surveys to ensure NABPLAW meets the current needs of customers.
- Conducts quality assurance checks for accuracy and relevancy of NABPLAW citations and updates inaccuracies or outdates accordingly.
- Ensures customer spreadsheets includes accurate information about subscribers and status and identifies necessary follow-up to ensure quality customer service.
Administrative Support
- Coordinates the training of new Professional Affairs personnel, including coordination of workflow with fellow staff member(s).
- Maintains inventory of supplies.
- Assists Professional Affairs Manager in special projects assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsibilities subject to change to accommodate Association and departmental policy and procedure changes.
- Immediately reports and discusses all unusual circumstances, and all matters which may be contrary to association policy, with the Professional Affairs Manager, Director, or the Associate Executive Director.
- Initiates work tickets with the Technology department and demonstrates follow-up.
- Is the primary person responsible for updated NABPLAW procedures.
Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent research work experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in the field of political science, history, government, or paralegal studies.
- 2 or more years of office, association, or health care project experience is a plus.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Must be conversant with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel and have a comfort level in using databases and other computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Competence in performing Internet searches is a must.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations or compliance is a plus.
