The presenters will outline the importance of securing both patient and prescription data and describe the value of such data on the dark web. The webinar then offers opportunities for evaluating and considering actionable items that individuals and groups can take to prevent common mistakes associated with data breaches. The activity will conclude with a discussion of a checklist and tool kit aimed at preparing pharmacists for inevitable data security issues to minimize risk and be prepared when data is compromised.

Presenter

Paige Clark, RPh, BPharm Vice President of Pharmacy Programs and Policy, Prescryptive Health

Paige Clark is the vice president of pharmacy programs and policy at Prescryptive Health, a health care technology company empowering consumers and pharmacists. In this role, Paige drives engagement to support the company’s commitment to increasing awareness, utilization, scope of practice, and profitability for pharmacies. Prior to Prescryptive, she served as Oregon State University (OSU) College of Pharmacy’s director of alumni relations and professional development, where she was responsible for professional development programming, continuing education, and alumni and corporate relations. Paige also served as staff at the Oregon Board of Pharmacy as the state’s pharmacist consultant, where she supported legislative initiatives, provided research, and wrote policy for the board, managed stakeholder groups, and served as a liaison to both the executive and legislative branches.

Paige has received numerous awards, including the National Merit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy Practice, Oregon Pharmacist of the Year, three national awards for development of patient education programs, Oregon State Pharmacy Association’s Executive Director’s award and Special Service award, the Bowl of Hygeia, the American Pharmacists Association’s Good Government Pharmacist of the Year, and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Blockstein lifetime achievement honor. She is a frequent contributor to pharmacy publications and speaks to regional and national organizations in addition to working in DC to further pharmacy’s issues. Paige is a graduate of OSU College of Pharmacy.
