Compliance Senior Manager, Accreditation and Inspection Programs, NABP
Betty Jones is the NABP Compliance Senior Manager, Accreditation and Inspection Programs. She has worked in various hospital pharmacy settings, with her highest position obtained as a director of pharmacy. In 2004, she joined the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a compliance specialist. In that role, she conducted hundreds of inspections of businesses that manufactured, purchased, or sold prescription drugs; conducted administrative and criminal investigations involving prescription drugs; and provided continuing education and training to health care professionals and law enforcement on compliance with drug laws and rules, drug diversion trends, and use of Ohio’s prescription monitoring program. In her nine years with NABP, she has worked with the accreditation and inspection programs evaluating compliance with program standards for pharmacy and distributor practices and leads a team of 60+ inspectors, surveyors, and document reviewers. Her areas of focus include prescription drug supply chain, compliance with laws/rules, practice of pharmacy, and sterile compounded preparations. Jones graduated from Ohio Northern University with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. Additionally, she completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency program at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH.
