RESOLUTION NO: 117-2-21
TITLE: Work Group to Consider Permanently Extending Certain Waivered Provisions
ACTION: PASS

WHEREAS, state boards of pharmacy have waived many regulatory provisions to address patient needs during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency; and

WHEREAS, various stakeholders are requesting that these waivered provisions remain in place permanently; and

WHEREAS, it is critical that state boards of pharmacy appropriately balance regulatory oversight for patient protection without enforcing overly burdensome requirements for practitioners;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that NABP convene a work group to review all provisions waived by the state boards of pharmacy during the COVID-19 public health emergency and advise which waivers, if any, could safely remain in effect beyond the COVID-19 public health emergency and amend, if necessary, the Model State Pharmacy Act and Model Rules of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
