Susan Ksiazek, RPh, was elected to serve as the 2016-2017 treasurer of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association’s 112th Annual Meeting, May 14-17, 2016, in San Diego, CA. Prior to the election, Ms Ksiazek served a three-year term as an Executive Committee member representing District 2.

Ms Ksiazek is a member of the New York State Board of Pharmacy and has served two terms as chair of the Board. She is the director of medical staff quality and education at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Prior to this position, Ms Ksiazek was a senior pharmacist in several different specialty departments at Erie County Medical Center and then served as the acting director of the department of pharmaceutical services. In addition, Ms Ksiazek serves as a clinical adjunct professor at the State University of New York (SUNY), Buffalo, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and a clinical instructor at the SUNY, Buffalo, Department of Medicine.

An active member of NABP, Ms Ksiazek has participated in many of the Association’s committees and task forces, including serving as the chair of the hospital subgroup of the Task Force to Review and Recommend Revisions to the Controlled Substances Act. She has also served as chair of the Task Force on Pharmacy Technician Education and Training Programs and as a member of the Committee on Law Enforcement/Legislation, the Task Force on Telepharmacy and the Implementation of the Medicare Drug Benefit Medication Therapy Management Provisions, and the Task Force to Examine NABP’s Data Resources. In addition, Ms Ksiazek has served as the NABP District 2 secretary for seven years. In 2011, Ms Ksiazek received the NABP Lester E. Hosto Distinguished Service Award.

As a member of the New York State Board of Pharmacy, Ms Ksiazek has served on the Automation Committee, the Long-Term Care Committee, and on the Collaborative Drug Therapy Management Committee. She has also served on the Board’s Quality Assurance Committee, Part III Licensure Exam Committee, Discipline Committee, and Executive Committee.

Ms Ksiazek earned her bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the SUNY, Buffalo, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
