.Pharmacy TLD Featured in Interview With Neustar

Carmen A. Catizone, MS, RPh, DPh, NABP executive director/secretary, discussed the .pharmacy domain name and its benefits for the domain name industry, registrants, and public health during an interview with Neustar, a company that provides top-level domain (TLD) registry services. Other topics of discussion included the process for registering a .pharmacy domain name, Bing’s revised advertising policy for online pharmacies, and consumer safety on the internet. The interview can be found on CircleID’s website. NABP recommends that consumers use pharmacy and pharmacy-related websites that have a .pharmacy domain name (eg, www.safe.pharmacy). In 2014, NABP launched the .Pharmacy Top-Level Domain Program to provide consumers worldwide with a means to clearly identify safe and legal online pharmacies and related resources. Consumers can trust .pharmacy websites because the seal of quality is the web address itself.
