Richard B. Mazzoni, RPh, was re-elected to serve a three-year member term, representing District 8, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association’s 113th Annual Meeting, May 20-23, 2017, in Orlando, FL.

Mr Mazzoni is a member of the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy and is currently serving as the Board’s chair. He has also served as a member of the New Mexico Attorney General’s Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Steering Committee. He is currently a consultant, and his firm, R. Mazzoni & Associates, assists clients with regulatory strategy.

From 2006 to 2012, he was the director of regulatory compliance at CVS Caremark, where he was responsible for regulatory activities in 22 states and served as the company’s representative to boards of pharmacy. Prior to that position, Mr Mazzoni worked for Albertson’s, Inc, for more than 15 years as the director of pharmacy professional services and government relations and as a regional pharmacy manager.

An active member of NABP, Mr Mazzoni has served on many Association task forces and committees, including serving as Executive Committee liaison for both the Task Force on Expanding International Membership and the Task Force to Examine Strategies for Preventing and Reacting to Pharmacy Robberies and Thefts, and for the Committee on Constitution and Bylaws.

Mr Mazzoni has also been involved with multiple pharmacy retail associations including serving as president of the Arizona Retailers Association, a member of the Chain Drug Committee and the Board of Directors of the California Retailers Association, and a member of the Chain Drug Committee for the Retail Association of Nevada.

Mr Mazzoni earned his bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from University of the Pacific.
