As executive secretary, Macdonald participated in the Nevada Prescription Controlled Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force, the National Association of State Controlled Substance Authorities, the Alliance of States with Prescription Monitoring Programs, and served as a facilitator and resource person for the National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws. After retiring as executive secretary, Macdonald served the Board as a member from 2005 to 2011, serving as treasurer from 2010 to 2011. He is currently a pharmacist for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc, in Carson City.
