Group of Eight (G8) leaders emphasized the importance of exchanging “information on rogue internet pharmacy sites in accordance with national law and shar[ing] best practices on combating counterfeit medical products” in order to protect public health and safety. Following their meeting May 18-19, 2012, at Camp David, MD, the G8 leaders stated this priority in their official statement, the Camp David Declaration, that included the 38 additional priorities agreed upon at the meeting. G8 leaders agreed on priorities in the areas of global economy, energy and climate change, food security and nutrition, and political and security issues, among other areas.
