Title: Examine the Drug Quality and Security Act – Title II

Membership Vote: PASS

WHEREAS, Congress has enacted the Drug Quality and Security Act (DQSA); and

WHEREAS, Title II of the DQSA substantially amends wholesale distribution law, modifies certain licensure requirements and preempts certain aspects of state law; and

WHEREAS, the Act becomes effective periodically over the next decade; and

WHEREAS, the Act requires promulgation of regulations periodically over the next decade;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that NABP recommend amendments to the Model State Pharmacy Act and Model Rules of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy reflecting requirements of Title II of the DQSA as the regulations and provisions of the Act are being promulgated; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that NABP provide public comment, as necessary, during the regulation promulgation period.
