RESOLUTION NO: 115-1-19
TITLE: Encourage Use of e-Prescribing Transactions
ACTION: PASS

WHEREAS, “de-prescribing” is defined as the process of tapering, stopping, discontinuing, or withdrawing drugs with the goal of managing and improving patient outcomes;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that NABP engage interested stakeholders, including, but not limited to, the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs, and the Tri-Regulator Collaborative, to encourage prescribers and pharmacists to use e-prescribing transactions, such as “RxChange” and “CancelRx,” to avoid duplicative or inappropriate prescribing and medication therapy (“de-prescribing”).
