NABP is honored to collaborate alongside actively practicing pharmacists nationwide in the development of NABP examinations, including North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX), Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE), Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Education Equivalency (FPGEE), and Universal Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (UPJE). If you are interested in growing your professional network and giving back to the profession, please fill out an interest form and our staff will be in contact regarding future opportunities.

Item Writer Volunteer Application

We welcome all practicing, patient facing pharmacists from any practice setting to serve as item writers in Item Development Workshops. These workshops are typically 3-day meetings held at the NABP headquarters in Mount Prospect, IL and are scheduled throughout the year. These meetings are an excellent way to network with pharmacy colleagues from across the country while giving back to the profession.

Review Committee Volunteer Application

We welcome pharmacy professionals from a variety of practice settings to serve on our Examination Review Committees. If you are interested in growing your professional network and actively participating in public safety, please fill out the form and our staff will be in contact. MPJE and UPJE committee applications may require an additional review by your jurisdiction’s Board of Pharmacy’s Executive Director. Note: Applications for the UPJE Review Committee (URC) are due by July 1, 2024. The URC inaugural meeting will be hosted at NABP headquarters, in Mount Prospect, IL on October 16-18, 2024.

Which exam(s) are you interested in volunteering for?
To volunteer for the UPJE Review Committee, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Able to view jurisprudence from a national lens instead of state-level view,
  • Available to participate in two multi-day meetings at NABP Headquarters each year,
  • Have experience as an exam item writer, and
  • Demonstrate professionalism, good judgment, and care in adhering to confidentiality obligations and NABP exam matters.

Applications for the UPJE Review Committee are due by July 1, 2024. Those selected for the committee will meet in the fall for the first meeting and will serve a 5-year term.
