The Pharmacy Access to Resources and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder Guideline

Draft Guidelines for Pharmacy Access to Resources and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder

NABP, the University of Houston (UH) College of Pharmacy, the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), and other stakeholders have collaborated to create a multiagency, multi-stakeholder evidence-based consensus guideline to advance pharmacists’ willingness to dispense buprenorphine for the treatment of OUD. The Draft Guidelines for Pharmacy Access to Resources and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder, is now available for a public comment period. After the public comment period has concluded, the comments will be analyzed thematically. Then, a panel of experts who were not involved in the initial guideline creation process will be convened to review the aggregated comments and discuss potential changes to the guideline document.

The project is funded by the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts.

Public Comment Period: April 15 – May 31, 2024
