Early Administration for the MPJE/UMPJE

Support your students on the path to licensure with MPJE/UMPJE early administration.

If your college of pharmacy is located in a jurisdiction that allows early administration of the MPJE/UMPJE, your college can offer eligible students the opportunity to take the MPJE or UMPJE prior to graduation. This option is designed to help reduce the time to licensure for qualifying students.

The Early Administration Process

  • Confirm Participation

Verify that the jurisdiction where your college is located allows the early administration.

  • Communicate Key Details with Students

Each student must create an NABP e-Profile and enter their education record. If they have already taken the NAPLEX Advantage, they should already have an e-Profile.

  • Confirm Education

In the College Services Dashboard, select the eligible students for early administration to verify that each student has completed the didactic curriculum.

Key Dates

Starting July 1 each year, your college will submit a roster of eligible students using your College Services Dashboard. Through the roster submission, your college certifies that each student has completed the didactic curriculum, including any required law course, of your ACPE-accredited program. Once you confirm your students, they will be flagged in the NABP system, and the student will be notified that they can choose to apply for exam eligibility.

Students may purchase MPJE or UMPJE eligibility once they are approved by the school, and must do so by December 1. Those who do not purchase by December 1 will need to wait until after graduation to apply through the standard process.

To be eligible and approved by their college for early administration, a student must:

Currently be enrolled in their final year of pharmacy school at an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy located in a participating jurisdiction,

Have completed the didactic curriculum, including any required law course,

Have a graduation date more than 6 months away, and

Plan to seek licensure in the jurisdiction where your school is located.

Featured FAQs

Why can’t I locate a student on the College Services Dashboard?

A missing student usually means they have not finished setting up their NABP e-Profile account. Have the student check that they have created an e-Profile and added their education record under My e-Profile Information.

If our main campus is listed in a participating jurisdiction but a branch of our college is not located in the same jurisdiction, are students eligible for early administration if they attend the branch campus?

arrow down

No. The participating jurisdiction must be where the student’s campus is located. If a branch of the campus is located outside of a participating jurisdiction, those students would not qualify.

What happens if a student fails the exam during the early administration period?

If a student does not pass, they will need to retest after graduation, following the standard NABP process. The early administration attempt counts toward their total attempt limits.
