Exam Services
We develop examinations that assist boards of pharmacy in assessing the pharmacy practice knowledge of entry-level and experienced pharmacists. Exams provide a standardized, reliable measure of an individual’s competency to practice pharmacy safely and effectively. Through these services, members can make more informed licensure decisions by ensuring that pharmacy professionals meet practice competency standards while streamlining the licensure process.
Examination Eligibility Process
For some jurisdictions, we confirm candidates’ eligibility to take an exam. Alleviating the administrative burden of the boards, NABP validates transcripts to ensure they meet state requirements.
NAPLEX
The National Pharmacy Licensure Examination® (NAPLEX®) helps boards to determine if a candidate has the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively practice entry-level pharmacy. Review the NAPLEX Fact Sheet to learn more.
MPJE
The state-specific version of the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® (MPJE®) is customized for each participating state and combines federal and state-specific law questions to serve as the state law examination in participating jurisdictions. Review the MPJE Fact Sheet to learn more.
Uniform MPJE
To be launched in June 2026, the uniform version of the MPJE is customized for each participating state and combines federal and state-specific law questions to serve as the state law examination in participating jurisdictions. The uniform MPJE does not replace the state-specific version, but instead offers another jurisprudence testing option for boards to offer prospective licensees.
FPGEE
After NABP approves a candidate’s education and pharmacist credentials, candidates must pass the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination® (FPGEE®) as one of the final steps toward achieving FPGEC® Certification.
