Information Sharing — Pharmacy-to-Pharmacy Marketplaces and HIV Medications
NABP is sharing the following information with boards of pharmacy for their awareness and review. There are known events of diverted HIV medications making their way onto pharmacy-to-pharmacy (P2P) platforms. Boards may wish to review the materials referenced below and determine whether to share them with their licensees.
The Partnership for Safe Medicines (PSM), together with ADAP Advocacy, has published an alert regarding the availability of discounted HIV medications on certain online P2P marketplaces. The alert and accompanying materials describe the concerns in detail and offer information for pharmacists and regulators.
NABP is passing this information along so that boards have visibility into the issue. We take no position on the specific findings and encourage boards to review the source materials directly and reach their own conclusions.
