Jeffrey J. Mesaros, PharmD, JD, RPh, Elected to Serve as Member of Executive Committee at NABP 115th Annual Meeting

Jeffrey J. Mesaros, PharmD, JD, RPh, was elected to serve a one-year member term, representing District 3, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association’s 115^th Annual Meeting, May 16-18, 2019, in Minneapolis, MN.

Dr Mesaros is currently the chair of the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Dr Mesaros has been a pharmacist attorney for over 15 years. Prior to this role, he was a staff pharmacist in multiple pharmacy settings. He began his career as a pharmacist at Merck-Medco Rx Services, a mail service pharmacy. He also worked for Cigna Tel-Drug, Walgreens, and Kmart. Throughout his law career, he has served as counsel for Express Scripts, DaVita Rx, and is currently senior legal counsel for CVS Health.

As a member of NABP, Dr Mesaros has made many contributions to the NABP District 3 meetings and served as the District 3 representative on the Committee on Resolutions. In addition, Dr Mesaros served on the Task Force on the Regulation of Pharmacy Benefit Managers and the Task Force on the Definition of a Patient-Pharmacist Relationship.

Dr Mesaros is an active member of other professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, the American Society for Pharmacy Law, and the American Pharmacists Association. He has given many presentations and speeches at various pharmacy events, including serving as a speaker during the NABP 109^th Annual Meeting in St Louis, MO, and for the American Society for Pharmacy Law. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and the University of Hawaii at Hilo – The Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy.

Dr Mesaros earned his master of science degree in pharmacy regulation and policy from the University of Florida, and his juris doctor from University of Miami School of Law. He received his doctor of pharmacy degree from Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy.
