Timothy D. Fensky, RPh, FACA, was elected to serve a three-year member term, representing District 1, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy®(NABP®) during the Association’s 112th Annual Meeting, May 14-17, 2016, in San Diego, CA.
Mr Fensky is a member of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy and is currently the president-elect of the Board. Mr Fensky is director of pharmacy operations at Sullivan’s Health Care, which he helped create to provide closed-door pharmacy services to long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, group residences, hospices, and specialized schools. He began his career as a community pharmacist at Sullivan’s Pharmacy and Medical Supply, where he later became pharmacy manager for institutional services.
As a member of NABP, Mr Fensky served on the Association’s Task Force on Pharmacist Prescriptive Authority. Prior to serving on the Massachusetts Board, he served for two years on the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health Medication Administration Program Advisory Committee, and he currently serves on the MassHealth Drug Utilization Review Advisory Board.
Mr Fensky is also an active member of several other pharmacy organizations. Mr Fensky previously served as president-elect and vice president of the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association and also served on the board and as president of the Massachusetts Independent Pharmacists Association. In addition, he is a member of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, the National Community Pharmacists Association, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Further, Mr Fensky is recognized as a full fellow for the American College of Apothecaries. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) in Boston, MA, and a preceptor to the MCPHS Advanced Pharmacy Experience Program and for the Cardinal Health/Sullivan’s Pharmacy/MCPHS University Specialized Residency Program. Mr Fensky has also delivered several presentations on United States Pharmacopeia compounding standards and regulatory updates for the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association and Northeastern University.
Mr Fensky earned his bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from Northeastern University, Bouvé College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
