Massachusetts to Implement Updated PMP Database

The Massachusetts Online Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) will be redesigned to make it easier for authorized users to submit and access PMP information. The objective of the state’s new PMP is to facilitate access to the system and improve reporting for both prescribers and the Department of Public Health. According to the Boston Business Journal, Massachusetts’ new PMP will also facilitate the ability to share data with other state PMPs and will be linked with electronic medical records.
