AWARXE Prescription Drug Safety Program Launches a Redesigned Website, Site Granted a .Pharmacy Domain

The AWAR_XE^® Prescription Drug Safety Program is pleased to announce the relaunch of its website to provide consumers and pharmacists with an easier way to find timely and relevant information on preventing the misuse and abuse of prescription drugs. In addition to the new look and easier navigation, the site has a new address: www.awarerx.pharmacy. AWAR_XE is proud to utilize the .pharmacy domain, as only legitimate Internet pharmacies and pharmacy-related websites qualify.

The redesigned website makes finding information simple, thanks to the reduced amount of information on the home page and action icons that direct visitors to Acquire Safely, Use Safely, Prevent Abuse, and Dispose Safely. Clicking on each action icon leads to several subtopics with more in-depth information.

The Drug Disposal Locator Tool has been updated with maps that are easier to navigate and more detailed search results for permanent drug disposal site in the United States. If visitors are interested in having their disposal sites included on the map, they can find instructions on how to submit the information. There is even information for pharmacies, long-term care facilities, and law enforcement locations that would like to know how to set up a drug disposal site in their community.

Resources are still available to pharmacists, consumers, and corporations that would like to spread the word about preventing prescription drug abuse and misuse. PowerPoint presentations with presenter notes and flyers are just some of the resources available. Visitors may share topics of interest easily via Facebook, Twitter, and email buttons embedded into each web page.

Cherry red, gray and navy are AWAR_XE’s new colors, which were chosen to create an inviting, soothing feel for people who visit the website.
