The toolkit helps accelerate delivery and supports safe handling of the COVID-19 vaccines, while maintaining quality and the public’s trust.
You will also hear from a frontline pharmacist who will share lessons learned administering the COVID-19 vaccines and instilling confidence and trust for patients. This home study webinar is a recording of the live activity that was held on March 25, 2021.

Farah Towfic, PharmD, MBA
Director of CEO Operations, United States Pharmacopeia
Farah Towfic is Director of CEO Operations for USP in Rockville, MD. In this role, she helps prioritize the CEO’s engagements and collaborates across the organization to create meaningful engagements that deliver on USP’s strategic priorities. Dr Towfic is currently leading work to facilitate USP’s support to its health practitioner stakeholder community to mitigate challenges related to the distribution; access; administration, storage, and handling challenges; and community perspective of COVID-19 vaccines.
Dr Towfic is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, and she completed an executive residency in association management at the American Pharmacists Association headquarters. She received her MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
Melody Ryan, PharmD, MPH
United States Pharmacopeia Healthcare Safety and Quality Committee Chair
Melody Ryan holds appointments at the University of Kentucky as a professor at the College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, as well as the College of Medicine Department of Neurology. Dr Ryan’s practice site is the neurology clinic at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She is also the Director of International Professional Student Education at the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Ryan is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Pharmacists Association and is the Chair of the USP Healthcare Safety and Quality Expert Committee.
Dr Ryan received her PharmD and MPH degrees from the University of Kentucky, and she completed a pharmacy practice residency at Duke University and a neurosciences fellowship at the University of Kentucky. She earned her certification in geriatric pharmacy in November 1998 and attained Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist status in 2000.
