Impact of COVID-19 Emergency Orders on the Practice of Pharmacy in Maryland:

In the ever-changing medical field, health care providers must be ready for anything, including a global pandemic. This presentation explores unique pharmacy-related COVID-19 emergency orders that have been implemented in Maryland and how the orders have impacted the practice of pharmacy over the past year.

Incorporating Student Pharmacists to Deliver COVID-19 Vaccinations in the State of NH:

In response to the demands for the administration of the COVID‐19 vaccine, utilizing all available and trained health care individuals to expand access of care to patients in the state of New Hampshire is essential. To assist with the vaccination efforts, the governor of New Hampshire has established 11 vaccination sites across the state. Student pharmacists enrolled in the MCPHS University accelerated PharmD program are certified and trained to administer vaccines and assist with vaccination efforts.

Addressing Fears and Distribution of COVID-19 Vaccines:

This poster examines the use of the first COVID-19 vaccines to be approved for emergency use authorization in the United States. Concerns regarding the components, the speed with which these vaccines were created, as well as plans for distribution are all addressed through this poster with the aim of relieving vaccine hesitancy. Although the end of the global pandemic caused by COVID‐19 and a future without masks and restrictions are promising with the discovery of a vaccine, still there is much worry about what is inside the vaccine, how quickly it was created and plans for distribution.

RxSWAB: A National Evaluation of Laws on Pharmacy Technician Support Servicing CLIA-Waived POCTs and Venipuncture:

Technician roles in pharmacy continue to evolve. The goal of this project was to serve as a resource to expand the overall scope of pharmacy practice in the performance of clinical and technical services. The data being presented includes compiled and categorized statutes and regulations of pharmacy technician allowances to perform point of care testing and venipuncture across the country.
