Home Infusion Therapy Pharmacy Accreditation is a 3-year accreditation for pharmacies currently providing qualifying home infusion therapy services in a patient’s home and getting reimbursed or those that want to start billing and need the framework to begin. Eligibility
To apply for an NABP accreditation, you must meet and maintain basic eligibility requirements. Review the Home Infusion Therapy Pharmacy Accreditation eligibility requirements below to determine if you are qualified to apply.
- You are a licensed pharmacy operating in the United States, with current, active licenses in good standing, in all jurisdictions where you conduct business (unless licensure is not required by law).
- You predominately serve human patients (defined as veterinary prescription volume less than 20%).
- Your business location cannot be a personal residence.
- You are operational in all activities for at least 30 days, must dispense at least one prescription drug, and have a licensed pharmacist (ie, responsible person/pharmacist-in-charge) in full and actual charge of your pharmacy operations, personnel, and compliance with federal and state regulations, laws and rules regarding the practice of pharmacy.
- You must provide home infusion therapy professional services in a patient’s home.
- Your pharmacy must furnish infusion therapy to individuals with acute or chronic conditions requiring administration of home infusion drugs (§486.505).
- You ensure the safe and effective provision and administration of home infusion therapy on a 7-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day basis (§486.505).
