Delegates Approve Nine Resolutions at NABP’s 98h Annual Meeting in Phoenix

Delegates from the member boards of pharmacy adopted nine resolutions during the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) 98th Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Ariz, held May 18-22, 2002. The resolutions addressed such timely issues as the appropriate use and formulation of OxyContin, legislation to increase enrollments in colleges and schools of pharmacy, collaborative interventions to reduce medication and dispensing errors, legislation recognizing pharmacists as health care providers, education and compliance with current standards of practice of preparation and administration of cytotoxic drugs, scheduling of carisoprodol to Schedule IV, standardized unit of use packaging, and the interpretation of federal controlled substance prescription refill regulations. The resolutions have been forwarded to NABP’s Executive Committee for review.
