About the Information Sharing Network

The information sharing network started in June 2020 and is part of a three-year project with FDA designed to facilitate the collection and sharing of information outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding Addressing Certain Distributions of Compounded Human Drug Products (MOU). Funded by FDA, the project will develop greater opportunities to gather and share compounding pharmacy data through NABP e-Profile Connect.

Throughout the remainder of the project, we will evaluate the network and the accuracy of the information collected and will present our analysis to FDA. The project focuses on three main goals.

Expand e-Profile to collect, manage, and exchange data pertaining to state-licensed pharmacies engaged in human drug compoundingImprove and increase information available to the state boards of pharmacy and FDA about compounding pharmacies that distribute across state linesFoster better and more targeted regulation and oversight of compounding pharmacies to reduce risk for patients
